He has been plying these waters for over three decades so he knew almost every bay, cove or inlet along the entire Santa Marta Coastline. The last one he remembers so vividly—the young German couple. They were doing a documentary on the reefs and coral. The site chosen was about six miles from the Inca Inca Cove near the pristine Rodadero Beach. The couple were in Santa Marta to capture some of the exhilarating underwater footage. That’s usually an hour long dive which started from around 7:30 pm.
Again, Captain Alvarez felt rather uncomfortable…..
